The Shepherd to feature Lincoln Longwools

by Site Admin on July 27, 2017

The September 2017 issue of The Shepherd magazine will highlight the Lincoln breed, and the NLSBA has been invited to help in putting this issue together. We will need to have all content and ads by Aug. 15.

We welcome article submissions pertinent to the breed, such as a profile of the breed, its history, and the work of the breed association, as well as farm profiles.

What would be most helpful is a variety of high-resolution images of the breed that we could use to illustrate the articles, and possibly the cover and other inside pages. Photo submissions should include a sentence we can use as a caption, describing the owner, the photographer, and location where the image was taken. We only used high-resolution digital images, so please be sure image is saved as a JPG at least 300 dpi. The bigger the better when it comes to photos for the magazine. We prefer images that focus on the sheep, and do not include people.

I’ve attached our ad rate sheet with sizes and prices for display ads. We are happy to use print-ready ads, but also please know that we have a designer that can turn basic information into a well-designed ad for no extra cost. Flip through a current issue to get ideas about ad sizes and what sort of information you might want in your ad. I send invoices for ads after each issue is published, so I would need billing information for each ad.

We also have Breeders Directory listings near the back of the magazine. The price is $40 for a listing to appear in 12 consecutive issues, but I’ll make an offer to producers that any new Breeders Directory listing received before Aug. 15 will be published for 14 months instead of 12, at the $40 price. These listings must be prepaid, and I’ve attached the form.

If I can answer any questions, or be of assistance, please don’t hesitate to let me know. Please feel free to forward this email to other producers. Our deadline for all content (photos, ads, etc.) for this feature issue is August 15. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
