by Site Admin on May 11, 2017

Lincoln breeders had a phenomenal weekend at the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival!

The highlight of the weekend was Liberty Farms (Diane Klingelhofer, MD) winning Supreme Champion Ewe with her yearling white ewe! Congratulations Diane! Diane also won Premier Breeder for the white and natural colored Lincoln shows.

For all three supreme classes (ram, ewe and fleece), both the white and natural colored Lincolns were pulled out in the top 7. Garges Girls (Taylor Garges, PA) and Creek Road Farms (Day Family, IN) were pulled out with their champion yearling rams. Liberty Farms (Diane Klingelhofer, MD) and Creek Road Farms (Day Family, IN) were pulled out with their champion yearling ewes. For best fleece, Liberty Farms (Diane Klingelhofer, MD) and Creek Road Farms (Day Family, IN) were pulled out to the top with their yearling rams. This is a wonderful testament to the work our breeders have been doing!

At the Maryland Sheep & Wool All Breeds sale, Lincolns were again the high selling breed! Locust Grove Farm (Debbie Vanderwende, DE) had the highest seller; her white yearling ewe sold for $1,350. Liberty Farms’ (Diane Klingelhofer, MD) futurity nominated white ewe lamb sold for $1,250. They were the top two sellers of the sale.

Updated photos and complete show and sale results will be posted as soon as they are available.
